My thoughts on the fires in LA.
I think it is interesting that the fires have broken out right before the inauguration of Donald Trump on 20th January 2025. It is utter destruction like we have never seen before. It is apocalyptic. Donald Trump has highlighted the lack of water and criticizes the Governor of California for this and the Biden administration. Windy weather creates fire tornadoes, which makes them even more deadly. They can lift off the roofs of cars and houses. People literally have to run for their lives and grab any belongings they can. About 180,000 people have been evacuated. At last count, 25 people have died so far (as at 15.01.25) and maybe more. Thousands have become homeless. About 12,000 structures have been destroyed. The biggest fire is in the Pacific Palisades and still burning. All that money and wealth in things has gone up in smoke. The Santa Ana winds have sparked more fires. But as Mel Gibson points out, these material 'things' don't matter but it is sad to lose your home and the things that cannot be replaced. Sentimental things cannot be replaced. Such a tragedy and a loss of "big big dollars," says Donald Trump. The firefighters are doing an amazing job from the air and on the ground to contain it. No rain yet though. So I am praying for rain.
The word that is going viral is that this is a devious plot to build a Smart City in LA by 2028. Investigations into why these fires were sparked and why there was no water in the fire hydrants is underway and arson is being considered, as well as electrical power lines. Residents of Altadena, California have sued Southern California Edison saying the electrical equipment set off the Eaton fire. The Eaton fire has burned 13,000 acres and destroyed 5000 structures. Few resources like fire engines and water hydrants with water were available when the fires started. An underfunded fire department is also in question . Gavin Newsome (Democrat), the Governor of California is in the firing line but has launched an investigation.
Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the US on 20th January and has to pick up this mess. Pick up the tab so to speak. Rebuild as he says. There is something very sinister about it all. This is why we need discernment in these days. God did not cause this fire. We need to be closer to the Lord than ever. We need to be ready to act on a mere whisper of his voice. The whole saga is very sinister and you cannot help thinking and questioning how, why and who would unleash such hell on this city of Los Angeles? This is not the end. Such a dirty, devious move of the devil. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. We must remember God is still on the throne, and in control. He is a brilliant chess player and knows what the next move is coming to trump the devil's evil plot! God turns evil into good.
Moreover, 2025 is a year for the builders (apostolic) in Christ and the fighters. They do both together, putting out the fires of evil and re-building. The fire hoses remind me of spraying the nations with the Holy Spirit and His righteousness! This is a revival. I look forward to Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20th, 2025. He is a good man despite being incriminated as a convicted felon. I live in the UK as a British citizen, but he gets my vote and support.
Praying for the firefighters and the displaced thousands of people to find their strength, faith, courage, and provision from God. Praying for leaders to get on top of this fire . Praying for rain most importantly. Praying for Los Angeles
God does not abandon us in times of crisis. No, he is right there in the midst of it all. Rescuing the people he loves. A warrant goes out from heaven for the arrest of this evil in Jesus Name.
Action to take
Turn the TV off. Your phone. Your laptop. Turn off all distractions. Sit quietly before God for 10 minutes. Read Psalm 46. Ask Holy Spirit to come and speak with you. Let God speak to you in the middle of whatever storm you are facing. Let his peace infuse your soul. He wants you to know that everything will be alright. Just like the Palm trees in LA that are still standing amid the raging fires, so will you be as you draw strength from God.
Do not fear God is in control.
Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalm 46:10, ESV).
